In 2009 Efrain composed “Humboldt and the sound of Venezuelan landscapes” commissioned by the embassy of Venezuela in Berlin to commemorate the 150 years of Alexander von Humboldt’s death.  The piece was premiered by Efrain’s chamber music ensemble Bolivar Soloists in a concert organized by the embassy in the Iberoamerican Institute Berlin.  In 2012, based on “Humboldt and the sound of Venezuelan landscapes” Oscher wrote “Humboldt's Travels” to portrait, in music, the experiences of Alexander von Humboldt while traveling through Venezuela. This piece was premiered by the Nuevo Mundo Chamber Orchestra in Berlin under Carlos Izcaray.
